Anti-human Trafficking Advisory Committee (AHTAC) had 1st quarterly meeting for 2021 yesterday on the 17.3.2021 from 10:00 hrs – 14:00 hrs in the afternoon. The AHTAC established under the Immigration to advocate and promote anti-human trafficking and people smuggling in Solomon Islands.
During the meeting the members endorsed the five years revised AHTAC National Action Plan 2020 – 2025 . The committee also endorsed the draft cabinet paper and Term of Reference for consultation to ratify the United Nation conventional on transnational organized crime (UNTOC). The joint Cabinet paper submitted through the Permanent Secretaries of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade (MFAET), Ministry of Police National Security and Correctional Services and the Ministry of Commerce, Industries, Labour and Immigration for vetting before Cabinet for endorsement.
