IMMIGRATION FEE

Please note that the last increase in Immigration and Passport fees was in 1997 (clearance related fees were only imposed in 1999). Fees were not increased in the last five years. The public is also requested to take note that:-

(a) A fee of $7,000.00 is imposed on foreigners who come as visitors and later change their status to become resident to take up employment in Solomon Islands (see SECOND SCHEDULE number (xi)).
(b) A fee of $7,000.00 is imposed where foreign employees who having completed their term of employment with one employment with one employer continue to remain in the country to take up employment with another employer by applying to the Minister for his approval (see SECOND SCHEDULE number (xxx)).
(c) The above-mentioned fees will be imposed when foreign employees enter initially as visitors or change employment on or after 21st April 2003.
(d) The new fees will be imposed on or after 21st April 2003 irrespective of whether the applications are initiated before before 21st April 2003

To avoid paying the above mentioned fees, employers are advised to apply for and have work permits and permits to enter and reside approved prior to bringing their foreign employees into the country and to repatriate their employees immediately after the termination or end of their employees contracts. Also other applicants are requested to speed up furnishing of immigration requirements for the issue of permits prior to 21st April 2003.

MATTERS FOR WHICH FEES ARE PAID	FEES PAYABLE
1. Visitor permits	Free of charge for 3 months
2. Extension of visitor’s permit after 3 months for any period or aggregate period up to 3 months .	SBD $30 per months
3. Application for a permit to enter and reside.	SBD$240.00
4. On issue of a permit to enter and reside for each month	SBD$50.00
5. On application for a student’s permit	SBD$130.00
6. On issue of a students permit	SBD$30.00
7. An application for renewal or extension of a permit to enter and reside for each month	SBD$180.00
8. On issue of renewal/extension of a permit to enter and reside for each month	SBD$30.00
9. On application for renewal/extension of student’s permit	SBD$80.00
10. On issue of renewal/extension of a students permit for each month	SBD$20.00
11. On issue of a replacement for a lost or damaged permit to enter and reside certificates	SBD$200.00
12. On issue of a replacement permit for a lost or damaged student permit certificate	SBD$130
13. An application for a conversion from visitor’s permit to a permit to enter and reside	SBD$300
14. An application for a conversion from a visitor’s permit to a students permit	SBD$250
15. An application for amendment or variation of an existing permit to enter and reside	SBD$100
16. An application for as interim permit to allow a permit holder to appeal against any decision by the Immigration Director or to take a court action against a decision of the Director of Immigration or an Immigration Office	SBD$60
17. On issue of an interim permit	SBD$40
18. An application for a simple re-entry permit	SBD$10
19. An application for a multi re-entry permit	SBD$180
20. An application for a permit to enter and reside for spouses of Solomon Islands citizens	SBD$100
21. On issue of a permit to enter and reside for spouses of Solomon Islands citizen for each month	SBD$10
22. An application for renewal/extension of permit to enter and reside foreign spouses of Solomon Islands citizens	SBD$80
23. On issue of renewal/extension of a permit to enter and reside for foreign spouse of Solomon Islands citizen for each month	SBD$5
24. An application for addition of particulars of child, children on any existing permit to enter and reside or student permit	SBD$40
