IMMIGRATION DIVISION

Immigration Division has at present 20 officers/staff Immigration Division is divided into three units namely:

• 1. Control Unit
• 2. Passport/Permit/Visa Unit
• 3. Investigation/Prosecution

Each unit has the following number of manpower apart from the Director and his Deputy:

• Passport/Permit Unit 8 Officers
• Control Unit 6 Officers
• Prosecution/investigation and monitoring (Enforcement unit) unit 4 Officers

Services Offered

Immigration Division offer the following services:-

• 1. Receive application for process and issue visitors permits
• 2. Receive application for process and issue permit to enter and reside (residence permits)
• 3. Receive application for process and issue students permits (use residence permit form)
• 4. Receive application for process and issue interim permits (use residence permit form)
• 5. Receive application for process of Children under the age of 16 years(Application form in pdf 78K)
• 6. Receive application for process and issue Solomon Islands Diplomatic, official and ordinary passports(download application form in pdf 246kb)
• 7. Receive application for renewal of passport(download application form in pdf 115kb)
• 8. Investigate and prosecute persons breaching the provisions of the Immigration and passport laws.
• 9. Monitoring and control of movement of aliens and Solomon Islands citizens out of and into the country.
• 10. Assisting in formulating Immigration policies and implementation of immigration policies and immigration laws a regulations.
• 11. Implementing prohibition orders made by the Minister.
